    EMTC is hosting a Save E-commerce - Save De Minims Open Forum where e-sellers, marketplaces, logistics companies, and others involved in the e-commerce industry can join an MS Teams meeting and ask EMTC leaders questions about the President's Executive Orders suspending de minimis shipments from Canada, China and Mexico as well as U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Proposed Rules on Entry of Low-Value Shipments. 

    EMTC will be discussing the President's new Executive Order on Reciprocal Tariffs and Amendment on PRC as Applied to Low-Value Shipments modified by Amendment to Reciprocal Tariffs and Updated Duties as Applied to Low-Value Imports from the People's Republic of China (April 8, 2025), Customs duties on all shipments (including low-value de minimis):

    • Canada = 25% ad val.
    • China = 20% ad val. + 84% ad val. for all modes except postal which has 90% ad val. or $75 (additional duties for China start May 2nd as Commerce has advised the President that CBP and USPS can collect duties from China and Hong Kong post)
    • Mexico = 25% ad val.

    CBP will hold its annual conference, the Trade Facilitation and Cargo Security Summit, on May 6-8, 2025 in New Orleans, LA.

    • NOTE: There will be an Optional Networking Session on May 5th at 6:00-8:00 pm CT).

    Check out the 2025 TFCS Summit FAQs.  EMTC will be speaking at the Trade Summit on a panel about CBP's LCB Continuing Education program with the other CE accreditors and will be available to answer questions at the CBP LCB CE program booth during the Summit.

    Registration is now OPEN and closes on April 24, 2025.  You have the option to attend in person (registration fee is $328) or virtually (registration fee is $28).

    When you register to attend the Trade Summit in person, there is a link to make hotel reservations at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.  The room rate is $259/night for the Summit.
