If you are a trade professional seeking information about attaining higher level of knowledge and accreditation, this is the place to get the latest information.

EMTC supports two distinct programs for trade professionals:

    • On June 23, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued its Final Rule on Continuing Education for Licensed Customs Brokers (LCBs).
    • On February 1, 2024, EMTC joined GTPA in rolling out ISO/IEC 17024 Global  Pathways Trade Professional certification program.
    • CBP will issue a Federal Register notice launching the LCB Continuing Education (CE) program.
    • Unlike the LCB, CCS and CES, the Global Pathways Program is a global accreditation for trade professionals at every level of their career.
    • This rule requires all LCBs to attain 36 hours of continuing education during the triennial reporting period.
    • Trade professionals   journey through the Global Pathways program earning new passports at different levels as they expand their knowledge and skills.
    • The current triennial reporting period is 2024-2027.  CBP will pro-rate the number of CE hours required for the 2024-2027 triennial reporting period.
    • Trade professionals  start the journey by purchasing a Passport and collecting Digital Stamps to enhance their knowledge or sharpen their skills in international trade using this new micro-credential program.
